Working with Images

Just like with documents, Catapult has an image repository that lets you build a picture toolbox that you can reuse on all of your pages.

To upload a new photo to your website, simply click on the upload button.

As with documents, you need to pick which folder the picture is going in before you upload them. Simply click on the folder you want to upload to and then click the upload button. By default, the pictures will upload to the root “Website Pictures” directory. Once they're on the server, you can reorganize and rename photos without breaking them.

Unlike most document files, pictures have the potential of being way too big to fit on a webpage. So we offer image optimization to size them down down as you upload them. The toggle is next to the button that uploads the photos.

While document files can be whatever type you want, images need to be picture type that are going to work on the Internet. This means .jpg, .png, and .gif. There are a lot of other image formats out there, but they don't work online. Catapult will prevent those files from being uploaded.

Preview Pane

The preview pane tells you about the file you have selected. From that pane you can add ADA text, or edit the image.

Editing Images

The edit image feature allows you to crop, resize, and add some simple effects.

You can add pictures into the text editor by using the insert picture button.

Select the picture you want to use, and hit save. The picture will get added wherever you happen to have your cursor. Once a picture is added it acts like a really large letter. You can get text to wrap around it by right clicking the image and selecting properties. There are settings for size, border, padding, and wrapping.

Content Elements that can use Images

In addition to the editor, you can add photos to banner, gallery, slideshow and the new picture element. Each of these houses their own pool of photos you can upload to directly. But you always have the option of adding files from the pool of images there in the file manager.
