SIS configuration

CatapultConnect integrates data from your student information system (SIS). That way when new students or staff join your school, they automatically appear in CatapultConnect and you can send them messages.

If you need to manually add staff to CatapultConnect, you can do that too (see Manage users).

Regardless of your set up, CatapultK12 assists to ensure everyone is in the system and your staff know how to use it.

Integration with Aeries (student information system)

If your school uses Aeries to manage student data, then setup is minimal.

  1. Set up an account in Aeries that has access to the necessary data.

    • In the “Student Data” section: Student Data, Contacts, Class Schedules/History

    • In the “Scheduling” section: Teacher Data, Staff Data, Course Data, Master Schedule

    • In the “Attendance” section: Attendance Data (ATT) Attendance History Security

  2. Share access details (Aeries Cert and URL) with your CatapultK12 contact.

After setup, CatapultConnect checks Aeries for any updates each night. If you use CatapultConnect to send attendance alerts (notifying guardians that their student is in class), it also checks 30 minutes before sending the alert.

Integration with any other system

CatapultConnect can integrate with any student information system or human resources system using CSV files. For full details, see Tips for SIS export

After setup, CatapultConnect receives any updates each night via a secure upload (SFTP). If you use CatapultConnect to send attendance alerts (notifying guardians that their student is in class), it also checks 30 minutes before sending the alert.
