In step two of sending a message, you can build a filter to narrow select from your initial contact list.

Your initial contact list depends on your responsibility within the organization (detailed below). Use filters to reduce select who you send a message to.

If you sign in as a member of the site communication team, you can contact the whole school.

Start by selecting from Guardian/Job Titles (such as teacher, classified staff, student contact, etc.). This adds some initial contacts. The remaining filters narrow your contact list.

You can narrow your contact list within a school using the same filters that staff/teachers have, plus filter by guardian/job title (such as teacher, classified staff, student contact, etc.) or individual teachers.

District Communication Team

If you sign in as a member of the district communication team, you can contact the entire district.

Like the Site Communication Team accounts, start by selecting from Guardian/Job Titles (such as teacher, classified staff, student contact, etc.). This adds some initial contacts. The remaining filters narrow your contact list.

You can narrow your contact list by filtering for school, guardian/job titles, languages, grades, zip codes, and bus routes. Note: since

Since periods often differ from school to school, you are not able to filter by period at the district level. If you need to filter by period within a school, choose Back twice to return to the district dashboard, then choose View All Sites > a specific school > Send Message.

Saved filters

If you often send to a particular filtered group, choose Save Current Filter (to the right of the “Build Filter” heading). To access a previously saved filter choose Saved Filters.

Saving a filter does not save a list of specific people, rather a set of criteria. If a new student joins your class, they automatically appear in your list of recipients as long as they match your criteria.
