Action Alerts (code red) are emergencies that interrupt your end the day of learning to take action (evacuate, lockdown, etc.) and account for your students.
When your school initiates an Action Alert, all staff receive a text message and email from CatapultEMS with a summary and a link to login to CatapultEMS. Your school may also announce the Action Alert over the PA system or via classroom call.

When an Action Alert or Code Red is initiated, you will receive a text message and email from CatapultEMS containing summary information and a link to login to CatapultEMS.
Action Alerts (Code Red) are best used for emergency situations where you will end the day of learning and take action(evacuate, lockdown, etc.) and account for your students.

View and send messages to your Site Safety Team using the Messages button on the dashboard. A pulsing red light notifies you of new messages. To respond, type your message in the text box and choose Send.

If the Action Alert is over, did you resolve it?
Initiate Action Alert
Sign in to CatapultEMS.com
From the dashboard, choose the red Action Alert button.
Choose an action. For descriptions of each action choose Directive (on the right, labeled “2” below).
If you need to notify staff immediately, choose Send Alert Now (green button on bottom, labeled “3” below). When you send the alert, you get a 5 second countdown to cancel before the alert goes out. If you have a minute, choose Provide Detail instead, to better inform staff about the emergency.
If you choose to provide detail, complete the following, then choose Incident Action Alert:

You can view staff status by selecting ‘Staff Status’ from the Dashboard.
From the Staff Status Screen, you can see all staff that have reported, their status and location, and all students they have accounted for. The chat button on the right-hand side will allow you to open two-way communication with a staff member.

Student Accountability can be viewed by accessing the ‘Students’ button from the dashboard.
You can search for students across the ‘Unaccounted’, ‘Accounted’, and ‘Absent’ tabs using the search bar at the top as well as account and unaccount for students and mark them absent.
Selecting ‘View’ next to a student name will open their location and status, as well as list their emergency contacts.
NOTE: Only Safety Team Members can mark a student as absent.

To view or send a message to a staff or Safety Team Member, select the ‘Staff Messages’ button from your Dashboard.
To view a submitted message, select the ‘Inbox’ tab at the top of the screen. Select the arrow next to the submitters name to view the message. From here, you can either broadcast the message to all staff members or reply to the person who sent the message.
To compose a new message, select the ‘Send Message’ tab.

Select the ‘Staff Location’ button on your Dashboard to see a visual of all reported staff statuses.
To sort by specific status, select the status icons below the map that are not of importance. Clicking on these will toggle the status on and off on the map.
Clicking on a staff location point will show their location, role, status, and allow two-way communication.

To resolve an Action Alert (Code Red), select the ‘Resolve Action’ button at the bottom of the dashboard.
Provide resolution details in the text box and select ‘Close Action Alert’.
